Delete Your Account

Deleting your Muscle Radar account is permanent. This page explains how to delete your account — from inside the app, or by email if you can no longer log in — and exactly what happens to your data when you do. You do not need to log in to this website, or have the app installed, to request deletion.
1. What Deleting Your Account Does
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and personal data from Muscle Radar, in line with your right to erasure under Article 17 of the UK GDPR. Once confirmed, deletion is irreversible — there is no recovery window and no way to restore a deleted account. If you want to use Muscle Radar again later, you will need to create a new account.
2. Delete in the App
The quickest way to delete your account is from inside the app — no need to contact us:
- Open the Muscle Radar app and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll down and tap Delete account.
- A dialog titled “Delete account?” summarises what will be removed. Tap Continue.
- In the “Confirm deletion” dialog, type DELETE into the box, then tap Delete.
- Your account and data are deleted straight away and you are signed out.
3. Can’t Log In, or Account Suspended?
You can also ask us to delete your account by email — you do not need access to the app:
- Email support@muscleradar.co.uk and ask us to delete your account, telling us the email address the account is registered to. Where possible, send the request from that address — it helps us verify you.
- We may ask for further verification to make sure the request really comes from the account owner before we delete anything.
- If your account has been suspended, the in-app deletion option is not available — email us instead and we will handle the deletion for you.
4. What Is Deleted and What Is Kept
Deleted
- Your profile and personal data — name, username, photos, bio, location details and settings.
- Your messages and conversations.
- Your social connections — friends, follows, matches and likes.
- Any trainer profile and business posts you created.
- Your login — the account itself is removed from our systems.
Kept or anonymised
- If you claimed a gym, the gym returns to unclaimed status. The venue listing itself stays in the directory — gyms are public places — but with no link to you or your personal data.
- Limited records we are legally required to keep — for example transaction records held by our payment providers — are retained only for as long as the law requires.
Subscriptions: deleting your account cancels any active web (Stripe) subscription. Subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play are managed by those stores and must be cancelled separately in your Apple or Google account settings — deleting your Muscle Radar account does not cancel them.
5. How Long It Takes
- In the app: deletion happens immediately — your data is removed as part of the deletion process, and the account is gone as soon as it completes.
- By email: once we have verified the request, we will complete the deletion within 30 days — usually much sooner.
